Professional gas range being serviced in a Cherry Hills Village estate kitchen

Range Repair

Range Repair for Cherry Hills Village Kitchens

A professional range is the heart of a Cherry Hills Village kitchen, so a burner that will not light or an oven that will not hold heat throws off the whole room.

We repair gas, dual-fuel, and induction ranges across 80113, from club-adjacent estates to the newer builds along the High Line Canal.

The dry climate is harder on a range than you think

The Front Range is one of the drier places a premium range will ever live, and that low humidity works on the parts you never see. Oven-door gaskets that stay soft in a humid climate slowly stiffen, shrink, and crack here. Once a gasket hardens, the oven leaks heat around the door, which shows up as uneven baking and a cavity that cannot hold its setpoint.

The same dryness is unkind to door hinges and control-area seals. A door that once shut with an even seal starts to sit proud on one side, and the heat loss follows. On the pro and dual-fuel ranges common here these are wear items, not defects, and catching a failing gasket early is far cheaper than chasing the heat problems it causes.

So we treat seals, gaskets, and hinges as part of the diagnosis, not an afterthought. Restoring a tight door often solves an uneven-baking complaint that would otherwise send someone hunting for a bad element that was never the problem.

Ignition and combustion specialists

Spark igniters, gas valves, and safety valves are everyday work, and we tune the air-fuel mix for the thinner air at 5,490 feet.

Gas, dual-fuel, and induction

We diagnose all three configurations, from burner heads and bake elements to induction control boards, so you get the right fix.

Range problems we resolve

If your range is doing any of these, a diagnosis will tell you exactly what failed.

Burner will not ignite

A cracked spark igniter, a wet burner cap, or a clogged port keeps a burner from lighting. We clean, test, and replace the worn part.

Weak or yellow flame

A soft yellow flame signals a mixture or blockage issue. Cleaning and adjustment restore a crisp blue flame.

Oven will not heat

On gas ranges this often means an igniter or safety valve; on dual-fuel, a bake element or control board. We test the oven separately from the burners.

Uneven cooking

Hot and cold spots often trace to a hardened door gasket leaking heat, a slipped calibration, or a struggling electric-oven element.

Clicking that will not stop

Continuous clicking, even once a burner lights, usually comes from moisture or a failing igniter switch. We dry and replace the worn part.

Knob or control failure

A knob that spins freely, a dead touch control, or an unresponsive panel points to a worn valve stem or a control-board fault.

Quick Answers

My gas burner clicks but will not light. What causes that?
Persistent clicking with no flame usually means a dirty or cracked spark igniter, a soaked burner cap, or a misaligned burner head. Drying the cap sometimes helps, but a cracked igniter needs replacing. Call (303) 729-0972 and we will identify which on site.
Do you service dual-fuel and induction ranges, not just gas?
Yes. We work on professional gas ranges, dual-fuel models that pair gas burners with an electric oven, and induction ranges. Each has a different failure profile, from gas and safety valves to induction control boards, and we bring the right diagnostic path for yours.
Why is my burner flame weak or burning yellow?
A lazy yellow flame points to an air-fuel mixture problem, a partly blocked burner port, or a burner not seated correctly, and our thin mountain air makes the mixture more sensitive. Book at https://nexfield.pro/crm/book?u=33 and we will restore a clean blue flame.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is a yellow flame dangerous?

A steady yellow or orange flame burns less efficiently and can produce more carbon, so it is worth addressing promptly. It usually signals a mixture or blockage issue, not an emergency, but if you ever smell gas, leave and call your utility first, then reach us for the repair.

The oven on my range will not heat but the burners work. Why?

On a gas range that often means a failed igniter or safety valve in the oven; on a dual-fuel model it usually points to the bake or broil element or the control board. The burners and oven run on separate systems, so one failing does not mean the other is at fault.

How does the dry Colorado air affect my range?

The Front Range is arid, and over time that dryness stiffens and shrinks oven-door gaskets and cracks the seals that keep heat in. A hardened gasket lets the oven leak heat and bake unevenly, and worn hinges make the door sit crooked. These are common, fixable wear points we check on every visit.

What does range repair start at?

Every visit begins with the flat $89 diagnostic, and range repairs start around $139. The exact price is set only after we inspect the unit, so you approve the number first.

Called just before six in the morning fully expecting to leave a voicemail, and a real person picked up. Our garage freezer had quit overnight in the June heat with half a side of beef sitting in it — the condenser fan had seized solid, and he already had the replacement with him, so it was done in one visit. Not a thing thawed, and he was decent enough not to comment on the state of the garage.

I had already started pricing new dishwashers. Every glass was coming out of the Miele with a chalky grey film on it and nothing I ran through the machine made any difference. The real culprit was our hard Douglas County water: scale baked hard onto the heating element, and a spray-arm bearing worn enough to wobble. He descaled it, fitted the new bearing, and corrected a water softener setting that had apparently been wrong since the house was built — clear glassware again, for a small fraction of a replacement.

Sixty-two degrees is not where you want a cabinet of reds sitting, and by then the display had gone dark as well. A power blip earlier that month had cooked the control board; he confirmed that on the first visit, got the correct board, and fitted it a couple of days later. What I appreciated more was that he then set a target temperature our basement can genuinely hold — at 6,200 feet it swings far more than people expect — rather than leaving it on a number that would have the compressor fighting all year.

The griddle on our Wolf had gone from useful to useless, scorching eggs on one pass and barely setting them on the next. He put a meter on it, found the griddle plate thermostat reading well outside its range, and swapped it. Then he checked the oven calibration while he was in there without my asking, which up here matters more than most people realise. The invoice matched the number he gave me before he started, to the dollar.

Every couple of weeks we were chipping a sheet of ice off the freezer floor and mopping up after it. The drain-line heater had failed, so defrost water was refreezing before it ever reached the drain — a genuine part went in and the ice has not come back once since. He also pulled the grille and showed me how much dust a Westridge summer packs into the condenser, which I now vacuum on a schedule.

The humidity control in our undercounter wine drawer stopped regulating and the corks were starting to dry out. I have to be honest about the scheduling: we were given an arrival window twice and both times they turned up well outside it without a phone call, so an afternoon went to waste. The technician himself was excellent — he explained what the humidity module actually does, fitted the replacement, and it has held steady ever since. Good work, but the dispatching needs tightening up.
